This House
These walls provide shelter, while cold winds persist and darker days forewarn
We found in each other the strongest of tethers, it may not be the norm
If I stand here alone for more than a second, the currents pull me down
The danger is here, but she’s nothing to fear, while this house stands its ground
The one that was mine, forgave me in time, though my deeds were unkind
The one whose compassion called time on the passion that clearly was ill-timed
There are no rules or similar tales to help us comprehend
But I’m in love with this moment we captured in time, I never want it to end
I love this house we built for ourselves from a broken past
It’s filled with memories of a life that’s gone so fast.
There’s love here, ambivalent love. A waiting room for change.
We dysfunctional three, in an elaborate flux that never once seemed strange.
